Heart Attack is Fatal to Rev. E. L. Endicott
Services for Rev. Edwin LeRoy Endicott, 48, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Bucyrus and a Marion native, will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Calvary United Methodist Church here.
Rev. Endicott, assigned to the Bucyrus church two months ago, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Bucyrus Community Hospital after a week’s illness. He had suffered a heart attack.
A Harding High School graduate and World War II veteran, he had serve Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert eight years before coming to Bucyrus. He was a member of the Van Wert Rotary Club.
Born Nov. 8, 1919, he was a son of John Edwin and Vera Inez Midlam Endicott of 458 Bellefontaine Ave. In 1942, he entered military service and at the time of his discharge in 1945, he was a corporal. He was graduated from Otterbein College at Westerville and Evangelical Theological Seminary at Naperville, Ill.
Surviving besides his parents are his widow. Ruth A. Rayle Endicott whom he married in 1944 in Westfield, Ind.; two sons, Kenneth E. and Phillip D. of Columbus; two grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia L. of the Bellefontaine Ave. address and Mrs. Stanley Perry of 1060 Western Dr., and a brother, John M., of 773 Lilac Lane.
Officiating Friday will be Rev. R.W. Faulkner of Lima, formerly of Marion, and Rev. William Pannell.
Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
